Today is July 21st, 2018:
Around 6:30 I made the trip down to logansport to Alicia's going away party. The drive wasn't too bas actually, as it was only an hour and a half..... the weather was a little non-compliant but, I made it! When I arrived in logansport the sun decided to show itself and break through the clouds. I walked up to the backyard of Alicias house, and stood there waiting for her to notice me. Her friend pointed to her and then to me and she shrieked with joy!! she was so happy to see me and was surprised that I made it down there, being that I am from Fort Wayne and it was kind of far. But I told her "girllll anything for you. if this is going to be my last time seeing you for a year I want to make it special." Then she introduced me to all of her friends, and we had a banging good time!! we sang karaoke, ate smores, and hung out like typical teenagers! Madeline (from Belgium) was there, and it absolutely broke my heart seeing her there, because she leaves tomorrow to go back home. That girl is a reason why I am super excited for my exchange. Making lifelong friendships, and promising to see each other, another time soon! Saying goodbye is always kinda hard for me. It usually doesn't set in until many moments later. Thats why I always say "see ya later," rather than "goodbye."
Mads, if you're reading this: it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you over this last year. as your journey is coming to an end, mine is just beginning. thank you for being so kind, and positively uplighting to me as I start my journey to Hungary. You will always have a space in my heart, for as long as I live. Lots of love for you mads....
In less than one month I will embark on my journey. Times a tickin'.
